Plans are underway for the 2008 Festival
to be held on August 8, 9, and 10 at the Tlell Fairgrounds.
  • Feb. 8/08: 'The Higgins' are our first confirmed Headline Act (see the Line-up 2008 page)

The Festival Committee has picked the theme for 2008. It will be "HOME ON THE EDGE" from several ideas discussed.

The festival is calling for submissions of artwork from islanders to creatively depict our new theme. The theme will be used on festival promotional materials, our website, programs, and clothing items.

Artwork should be submitted on standard 8½" x 11" format, or as a digital image in jpeg format. When designing the artwork, artists are asked to keep in mind that the image is to be reproduced in small format for newspaper and program use, in medium sized format for t-shirts, and in larger format for signage and/or backdrop use. The art must therefore be simple, bold, direct, and in black medium on a white background. Multi-coloured images will not be considered. All submissions will be judged by a panel from all festival members. The winner of this year's competition will have his/her image prominently displayed on festival promotional material, and will be given a free festival t-shirt displaying the image as well as a weekend family pass to the event. The deadline for submissions will be February 2008. Submit your artwork by mail to the Edge of the World Music Festival at Box 812, Queen Charlotte, or by email to lhusband@island.net.

Music Festival 2007 was successful beyond our wildest dreams! Our local and off-island musicians brought us blues, rock, country, bluegrass, reggae, rockabilly and gospel with rhythm. Festival organizers are hearing that “it was the best festival ever!” The Tlell Fairgrounds was a perfect venue, and the sun shone on us for two days—it worked also to move to August. We are already talking about next year, and we hope to be at the fairgrounds in 2008 and beyond. Watch for 2007 pictures on this website soon, send us your suggestions, and think about volunteering. We have a lot of new volunteer talent already for next year, but it takes a lot of people hours to put on your islands’ music festival.

Our photos are now up. Additionally:

Jessica Storry has created a Facebook Group featuring photos from Festival 2007 http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4870362655 A free membership to Facebook is required to view the site. It is well worth the effort. Thanks Jessica!

A Prince Rupert publication 'The Northern View' has created a photo gallery and a Youtube video of Festival 2007. Check it out in their 'Arts' section at http://www.thenorthernview.com/
