Haida Gwaii is sometimes called "The Misty Isles" by those who love them and return year after year to enjoy the peace, the sun, and the clear blue sky of unspoiled air that smells at different times of the salty waters of the strait which separates us from the mainland, and of the spruce forests which cover most of the islands. Here, the North Pacific Ocean changes our island weather sometimes several times in a single day and reminds us of our connection to the remote northwest. Although the climate tends to be drier than the adjacent mainland coast, you should be prepared for rain!
